Law firms, banks, realtors and more…sending your Young Professionals to REED Charitable Foundation’s 5th Annual Dyslexia Gala is a way to allow them to network, learn more about an organization that they might want to learn more about, potentially join its Board AND it is really a gift to them in terms of raising their awareness about the literacy crisis, the right questions to ask when looking for schools and knowing how to find resources if their child is struggling. Offer to send a couple of your professionals. It will be a great night, the most iconic view of Downtown Orlando, incredible food, open bar, an amazing auction and, most importantly, a mission to ensure every child has a teacher who can confidently teach them how to read. Sand, surf, and… OG? 🌴 Orton-Gillingham instruction is being used all over the world to help not just dyslexic students but all children become proficient readers, writers, and spellers. A REED Charitable Foundation trainee has taken her OG knowledge to the clear blue waters of The Bahamas! Bridget Creech is a former reading specialist from Florida who now runs a children’s literacy mission in The Exumas. By using OG strategies and methods she is teaching the children at Bahamas Children’s Mission how to become successful readers. It is incredible to realize the impact helping train even one teacher can make in the world. This is one of my favorite ideas yet! A Back-To-School Shop featuring dyslexic artists work (kiddos & a professional, Chad Starling) and our updated logo, which we haven’t officially announced yet! Every shirt & sweatshirt has been handled - they are super soft! I am IN LOVE with the little drawing from one of our young artists that says, “Don’t put me in a box!” I love it! So.. SHOP FOR A CAUSE ❤️ For every item sold, all proceeds above the production cost go directly to REED Charitable Foundation.Your support helps us make best-in-class literacy training, implementation support and educational events financially & geographically accessible. Join us in making a difference—shop now and be a part of something bigger! (Special thanks to Carroll Hanley Goggin, MAS, MASI for her help to make it happen - love you big!) 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eQiSrKyC #ShopForACause #Nonprofit #MakeADifference #CharityShop

So grateful❤️ I was listening to a podcast this morning about how many people feel like if they can’t do something big or make a huge donation it won’t make a difference or an impact so it isn’t worth doing. But the truth is - big change and impact is often made as a result of many small actions that eventually add up to something exponentially larger. So true! When people donate to REED Charitable Foundation - whether it is a monetary gift, an auction donation, volunteer time - those gifts vary in size but their impact is no less valuable. The collective impact of the generosity of everyone who has ever given has allowed for the impact and scale we have in just 5 years. Over 3,000 educators trained, over 75,000 children impacted from 43 States and 10 countries (our latest being Mozambique!!). And we are really just getting started. Literacy outcomes will change and it is because of businesses and families like those listed (and many more to come) - and I am beyond grateful. We all are. You are making an impact none of us will ever fully understand in our lifetime. It’s part of our legacy on this Earth. Pretty amazing when you think about it. #UntilEveryTeacherIsTrained #UntilEveryChildCanRead
