    We're back with Part 2 of Planning and Forecasting with Emily Kramer 🤓 In this episode, Emily pulled up a spreadsheet with forecasting numbers and dropped some wisdom bombs on marketing planning. She hit on something so crucial, yet often overlooked. Most of us start with our metrics, numbers, and toss them into the model, expecting results to magically materialize. But here's the trap — what most of us don't do is connect our numbers to what we're actually going to do. You know, to reality. Example? Let's talk web traffic. It's often like, "Oh, we'll see a +20% bump in Q2." But what about that seasonal drop-offs in June? Gotta factor in that -10% dip we always see because, hey, summer slumps are real. 🌞 Now, suddenly our forecast isn't a wish; it's a plan. Here's where the magic happens: Emily recommends mapping out our assumptions first. This allows us to not just guess "This will grow." She recommends breaking down the mechanics — current performance, what happens if you maintain your current performance, and then start layering in your assumptions. This gives you an answer to: What's going to happen based on the work the marketing team is going to do? If your marketing plan isn't rooted in reality, then what's the point?     Dont just set KPI goals in marketing, set K.P.O. goals. If you do this you'll be set up to hit your numbers not just this quarter, but also in the future.     Holiday season is here. That means low pipeline and fewer closed won deals, right? Nope. Nuh-uh! Here are 4 tips to drive more pipeline & revenue this Q4👇 1. Optimize your landing pages and pricing page for conversions. If you've got less than 30 days sales cycle, this is the fastest way to increase your pipeline and win more deals. If you've got a sales cycle that's greater than 30 days, you've still created pipeline for Q1.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2. Make it easy for your prospects to buy from you. This means skipping the SDR qualification call if you can automatically qualify based on form values, enriched data, or CRM properties. It means, including a scheduler (ahem ahem) so prospects can book some time in your reps' calendars directly. Pro Tip: If you're already using RevenueHero, add more calendar availability. Not displaying enough slots could be costing you $$ 3. Fill that BOFU content gap Prospects starting to compare you to a competitor? And you don't have a landing page for that? It's time to build it. New and interesting use case popping up in sales calls frequently? Time to address it. Sure, they might not have search volume. But if prospects are thinking about it and talking about it on sales calls, it's definitely worth prioritizing it. 4. Everybody's favorite play — revisit those closed lost deals! Simplest way to do this: Look at accounts that were moved to "Closed Lost" six months ago. If they went to a competitor, their renewal is likely coming soon. The goal is to re-engage with them. You sales team is likely on top of this already, but as marketers ensure they're invited to webinars and get your product updates. Any other quick wins we've missed? 🤔
