I owe a belated thank you to my alma mater, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the The New York Climate Exchange for having me pitch at their inaugural Climate Tech Showcase as part of #NYClimateWeek! It was great to pitch along other #startups in the climate space and see real action on how universities can both support early-stage startups and engage in climate. I'm also grateful to have attended Nomadic Venture Partners event on #criticalminerals. We are facing down shortages in all of the metals we need to achieve #netzero- Rivalia Chemical Co. is tackling but one piece of a huge supply chain puzzle. If we are serious about climate, we need to be serious about mining. As always, there is a lot of impactful, important work to be done. Onwards!

The path to bring new tech to market - to bring something new into the world that has never existed before- is incredibly challenging. It was a joy to work with Matt Blois at C&EN over the last few months to share my #startup journey building Rivalia Chemical Co. Matt deftly describes the evolving #innovation ecosystem and how Andrew Wang at Standard Potential Co., Sudharsan Dwaraknath at Quorum Bio, and I are navigating it. The three of us have benefited tremendously from programs like the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Chain Reaction Innovations and Activate - critical in filling early-stage funding gaps for hard tech innovators. I firmly believe more efforts like these - more shots on goal- will help launch technologies that will make our world a better, more sustainable, and more energy efficient world. It was great to attend the EPRI Summer Meeting last week in Salt Lake City! I spoke on a #panel highlighting opportunities for harvesting #criticalminerals from #coal ash waste. The regulatory landscape presents some serious challenges, but I'm hopeful with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and utility support, Rivalia Chemical Co. will make headway in sourcing #rareearths domestically. This is the way that we fast-track U.S. #independence and #resiliency. Amazing announcement out of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today. The #criticalminerals #supplychain needs large scale support for de-risking technology and using our domestic resources to their fullest. As we get more details, I'm hopeful that Rivalia Chemical Co. and other #startups in this space can take advantage of the amazing resources that METALLIC (and especially Argonne National Laboratory, where Rivalia is based) generates!
