Our teachers work so hard to get students to understand new lessons. Well, when once the lessons are learned, it is fun to celebrate the new knowledge. The Central Child Development Center students spent the last few weeks learning their colors. To celebrate the end of the lesson, they dressed up and put on a parade in the halls. Our Applied Technology Center students and student leaders got the opportunity to speak with S.C. Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette. Evette visited ATC to learn more about our great programs. Our students got to showcase how important our school is for workforce development. We are proud to invest in career and technical readiness. We’re excited to highlight Ms. Kimberly Williams-Wilson, an eighth-grade math teacher at Dutchman Creek! Mrs. Williams-Wilson's #RockSolid dedication to her students is evident in the impact of her work. Her principal says her use of data helps personalize lessons and build confidence in math. Our partners are amazing! One great example of this is Winthrop University. Last week, the first-ever class of Winthrop's Dual Langauge Immersion students walked onto the campus as seniors. Four years have gone by since this class became the trailblazers of this program. We're proud of the work these students have done to pave the way for others to benefit from this partnership.

Happy Friday! We’re celebrating teachers who are here every day! Congratulations to Mount Gallant Elementary fourth grade teacher Rachel Brimmer! She is this week's Teacher Attendance Incentive. District administrators surprised her with a $500 Visa gift card, thanks to The Foundation for Rock Hill Schools. We are grateful for Ms. Brimmer's dedication to showing up for students and our community partners, who continuously show our teachers appreciation!

 As part of Suicide Prevention Month, we are sharing information about the Rock Hill Schools Mental Health Student Advisory Council's attendance at the 2024 Lowcountry Mental Health Conference in July.
