Concrete Makes a Lasting Impression Rockport Ready Mix and Ohio Concrete truly added a special touch to Independence Home Days event this year. Just imagine the delight on the kids’ faces as they moved from honking the horn of a big concrete mixer truck to pressing their hands into the sand making their unique imprint into a lasting concrete cast. This activity was not just about having fun, it was about creating meaningful keepsakes that capture a precious moment in time. Each handprint cast becomes a symbol of their participation in this unique experience and the joy they felt. We are proud of our Rockport Team for bringing such joy to the children and contributing to this community-oriented event that creates lasting memories for families. We are thankful to Ohio Concrete for helping make this event a success. A special thank you also goes to Euclid Chemical for their generous contribution of materials, helping make these memorable moments possible. https://lnkd.in/e_Rm9sMW #RockportReadyMix #OhioConcrete #TheEuclidChemicalCompany #IndependenceHomeDays

Career Vehicle Day at North Royalton Elementary School What a fantastic day it was for the K through fourth graders! Hundreds of kids explored our concrete mixer truck. Jason shared fascinating insights about the truck and answered many curious questions. The children’s faces lit up as each completed the journey with the loud blare of the horn. Thank you to the dedicated teachers, staff and volunteers that made this an exciting learning adventure for the students at North Royalton Elementary School.

Concrete – What makes up a Cubic Yard of Concrete? Rockport welcomed on Monday the students enrolled in the Construction Methods and Materials Class at Tri C - Cuyahoga Community College, for a plant tour. We looked at the components that make up concrete from the several types of cementitious materials and coarse aggregates to fine aggregates and admixtures. We appreciate Ron Kral for introducing the students to our industry, the actual materials we use and our processes.

Concrete – How is it made? The most used building material. How do we make it more durable and sustainable? Rockport welcomed on Friday a talented group of First Year Cement Masons Apprentices. During the plant tour the group experienced how concrete is made and witnessed a demonstration of the concrete testing process. The group then attended a presentation about concrete, the most used building material, the materials used in making concrete, and the importance of using the different supplemental cementitious materials to reduce carbon emission and the impact on the environment. A special thanks for Barry Dijulius for his commitment in training and teaching the apprentices the proper practices.
