Starting today at noon, the traffic circle at the Emergency Department entrance will be taken out of service until November for contractors to complete grading and site work for the new addition for the Intensive Care Unit and the Kaplan Center for Surgical Services. Contractors have constructed a temporary ramp with a turn-a-round adjacent to the ambulance bay that can be used by private vehicles as a drop off zone for patients. A temporary pedestrian walkway will also be constructed across from the ambulance bay for patients, employees and visitors to access the Emergency Department entrance. Contractors have also constructed a temporary exit for ambulances to use. During this time, ambulances will pull into the ambulance bay as usual. However, they will then back out of the bay and drive down the temporary exit
