S&N has been making a presence at many of the UCC meetings held in North Carolina whether it be by the virtual platform or in person. This week we were able to be in two places at one time. S&N was able to take part in a UCC held in the eastern region of the state ( virtually) and then being in person in Hickory, NC. S&N was able to bring those attending the UCC meeting in person up to date on the progress we have made with locate requests in this region since taking over a large contract in NC. Local pipeline operators in North Carolina held meetings across the state hosted by Paradigm, to help educate everyone on Pipeline Safety. S&N was able to attend this event at the American Legion building in Charlotte, NC. Did you know that 2.7 million miles of pipeline provides 65% of our nation’s energy? And 20 million barrels of liquid products are used daily. These meetings are held to help educate excavators, first responders and emergency response units. Valuable information is shared at these meetings. #wevegotthis

Meet Kirsten, one of our new Human Resources Managers, who brings a wealth of experience spanning office management, banking, and research. With a career that began in data entry and customer service, Kirsten quickly progressed to become a vault teller at a local bank. Her journey in the industry took off in 2021, where she worked as a Title Research Specialist, overseeing projects involving primarily fiber optics and underground cables, finding easements and locating right of ways.Now, Kirsten is thrilled to join our team as a Human Resources Manager and is eager to contribute to our ongoing projects. She’s excited about this new chapter and looks forward to leveraging her skills to support our goals. Outside of work, Kirsten recently married in March! S&N is pleased to announce Aaron Mathews as our new Reginal Manager overseeing Western North Carolina for our Underground Utility Locate Division! We’re very excited to have Aaron on our team in his new role! Aaron has spent the past eight years in the locate industry in various roles, with a total of sixteen years in the telecommunications industry. Aaron is originally from upstate New York, but relocated to Fayetteville, NC in 2008 to be closer to family. He worked for a turnkey construction company doing underground utility construction and helped them create an underground locate division in the past. Seeking a new challenge, he recently joined S&N, where he has been a huge part in starting up a new contract in the Carolinas. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his fiancé and will be marrying in the Fall. He also enjoys playing music, restoring boats and antique vehicles. Aaron has strong work ethic and is knowledgeable in the industry. S&N is very fortunate to have team members like Aaron and we are excited to assist him in his role as Reginal Manager! #congrats #wevegotthis

S&N representatives were able to attend the 25th graduating class at Southside Community College Power Line Worker Training School at Fort Barefoot in Blackstone, VA. The guest speaker for the event was John D. Hewa, President & Chief Executive Officer for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. 23 graduated from the program today and will be entering the workforce in the weeks to come. #thankalineman #wevegotthis

NUCA of the Carolinas held their Summer meeting at the NC811 Events Center in Greensboro, NC this week. S&N was able to network with many of those attending from different utility contractors, insurance companies and with the NCDOL. Great presentation from Paragon Safety on Safety Inside the Work Zone.
