With over 23 years of service at the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office , Captain Vaden brings extensive leadership experience to SMF. A California State University-Sacramento/Sacramento State Alumni Association graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, she has led major divisions, including Central Patrol and the Main Jail. Her expertise and commitment to public safety will help ensure a secure and welcoming environment for travelers, employees, and the entire airport community. This distinction is awarded to a select group of airport professionals who successfully complete a rigorous accreditation process, including a comprehensive examination, a written requirement, and a final interview assessing their expertise in airport management, business administration, and transportation economics. Joe’s achievement reflects his dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence in the aviation industry. With fewer than six percent of AAAE members holding this accreditation, his accomplishment is truly outstanding. In addition to his airport management expertise, Joe brings extensive leadership experience from his distinguished military career. He served in the United States Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserve, holding various leadership positions, including Senior Enlisted Leader for the KC-10(A), C-5(M), C-17, and KC-46 Maintenance Squadrons.
