About us

Saint Francis Healthcare System is guided by our mission to provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ. Through this mission, Saint Francis Healthcare System serves nearly 713,000 people across Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas, focusing on our patients' outcomes, experience and value. Founded by Franciscan Sisters in 1875, Saint Francis has continued to offer compassionate care and innovative medical treatments to those in need. The times may have changed, but our priority remains the same: serve all who enter with dignity, compassion and joy. Anchored by Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital, our nationally-recognized service lines include the Cancer Institute, Emergency and Level III Trauma Center, Family BirthPlace and the region's first Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Heart Hospital, Neurosciences and Orthopedics. With nearly 2,800 employees and more than 250 providers in eight different communities, the Healthcare System is a driving economic force in the region.

  • Kudos to Morgan Eisner, RN, and Eric Ticer, RN! • Joyce M. Reed, DO, received her Medical Director Certification for Hospice and Palliative Medicine. "Board certification for a physician in any specialty field indicates specific knowledge and competency within that area of expertise. I have been board certified in Family Practice for many years, but felt a calling to provide hospice services for patients with a terminal diagnosis. I feel as if the extra studying and research that I have done to get ready for Hospice Medical Director Certification boards has and will make me more confident in providing even better patient care. Nothing seems more important than comfort during the final months, weeks and days at the end of life. Hopefully, I can help provide patients and their families with that comfort during those difficult times." - Joyce M. Reed, DO
