Stories, like this one from SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisc., highlight the big and small ways our caregivers live our Mission, Vision and Values every day: Echosonographer Ashely (far right, back row of photo) quickly responded when an imaging study was requested for a patient that needed an undefined heart murmur evaluated before surgery. When Ashley saw the request, she quickly agreed to do the exam before her shift had started. Ashley's exceptional work provided the care team with great images that ultimately led to a change in the surgical anesthetic plan. Without Ashley's quick help, the surgery would have been delayed or cancelled. Ashley and the entire echosonography team were thanked: "I have always enjoyed working with Ashley (and really all of the echo techs). They do outstanding work and are very talented in their field."

SSM Health in Wisconsin rolled out a first-in-state post-birth alert program this month. Teams provide patient education about signs of post-pregnancy complications and an orange bracelet to be worn for six weeks after giving birth. The bracelets help visually remind patients, family members and emergency medical personnel of the signs of post-birth complications.
