Our CEO/General Manager, Heather Dyer, had the opportunity to meet with local Senator Ochoa Bogh, Director Marty Ralph from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and Cary Talbot, FIRO Program National Lead from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. The discussion centered on the importance of Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) in safeguarding our water supply. We also addressed the role of atmospheric rivers and their impact on water management, particularly in overcoming challenges as we begin recovery from the Line Fire. Applying FIRO to Seven Oaks Reservoir will be essential for optimizing our existing infrastructure and securing a resilient water future. #FIRO

It's a 12-month period from Oct 1 - Sept 30 that hydrologists use to track precipitation (from winter snow to summer rain) and how it impacts our water supply.
