✨ This morning, the Center team was thrilled to receive a proclamation from Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Vice Chairwoman Terra Lawson-Remer to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Latin@x Services, a historic milestone for The Center. 🧡 We were also honored to see Carolina Ramos, our amazing Client Crisis Responder and Community Advocate, receive a proclamation from Chairwoman Vargas for her incredible support during LGBTQIA+ History Month. 🌈 Since 2004, The Center’s Nicole Murray-Ramirez Latin@x Services has been the first of its kind in the nation, providing a welcoming and culturally inclusive space for the Latino/a/x LGBTQ+ community. Our services help community members embrace every part of who they are, from their culture and traditions to their language, spirituality, and sexual and gender identities. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together!

✨ Congratulations to Carolina Alcoser Ramos (she/her), Client Crisis Responder and Community Advocate, for celebrating an incredible 20 years at The Center! Carolina has dedicated her life to helping community members in crisis, providing culturally-sensitive case management to our Spanish-speaking, LGBTQ+, and immigrant community members. She was instrumental in creating our cutting-edge Latin@x Services, building it from the ground up to now being one of the longest-running services with its own designated space at The Center. Carolina embodies resilience, compassion, and intersectional leadership. She has served San Diego as a Human Relations Commissioner; a member of the San Diego Unified School District Superintendent’s Commission on LGBTQ+ issues in Education; a sensitivity trainer to the San Diego City Social Services Department; and has spoken at schools, universities, and military bases throughout San Diego on issues of LGBTQ+ equality and immigrant rights—bringing more acceptance, inclusion, and support to our LGBTQ+ community, and bridging inter-generational gaps to support parents, children, grandparents, and chosen families. 💜 We are so grateful for your commitment to The Center and your service to our community, Carolina!
