About us
San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to low income individuals throughout San Diego County. SDVLP serves the most vulnerable members of our community: the homeless, abused children, domestic violence victims, elder abuse victims, veterans, immigrants, and HIV/AIDS sufferers. More than 75% of SDVLP's clients are women and children. Mission Statement: To provide equal access to the justice system by serving as a bridge between indigent and other disadvantaged people in San Diego County and the volunteer lawyers and others who are willing to donate their time and resources.

On August 9 and 10, SDVLP once again proudly participated in the Veterans Village of San Diego's #StandDown event, and helped over 30 veterans navigate the critical legal challenges they were facing. The annual Stand Down event brings vital resources and support to veterans experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Our dedicated staff and volunteer attorneys provided crucial civil legal advice to veterans; from VA benefits and debt relief to family law and employment law, our team was there to support those who have served our country. A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible volunteer attorneys for their time, expertise, and unwavering commitment to justice.
