Yesterday afternoon, our Health and Safety Committee, alongside the Upper Saucon Township Emergency Management team, conducted a surprise Mock Code Drill (simulated cardiac arrest) on the Pickleball courts just after 12 P.M. These unannounced drills, held 3 to 4 times each season, are vital for testing our emergency protocols and keeping our staff’s training fresh. We walked through the full emergency response process, including performing CPR on a rescue dummy with the trainer AED. We're proud to say that this drill had the best response we’ve seen so far! The Emergency Management team, who often joins us for these drills, praised our team’s swift and proactive approach. A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated. This time, the drill wasn’t announced as a Mock Code, allowing us to test response times under realistic conditions, and our team truly excelled.

Thank you, Alex, for your contributions this summer. We are proud to have been part of your journey and wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
Dedicated and passionate Turf Management student with 4 years of experience at Saucon Valley Country Club, Pursuing excellence in golf course maintenance and management at Delaware Valley University.
As the new semester begins, I want to reflect on my summer internship at Saucon Valley Country Club. This incredible learning experience allowed me to gain hands-on experience in turf management, from mastering irrigation techniques to diagnosing turf diseases. Leading small teams, particularly during a busy tournament week, challenged me to develop my leadership and communication skills. I also deepened my understanding of pesticides and fertilizers, through tasks such as spraying with a Sprayhawk, using a Vicon Spreader, and spot spraying for weeds using a Toro Unit. These experiences have prepared me well for my future in the turf industry. Thank you to Jim Roney, Gavin Johnson, and the Saucon Valley Country Club team for their mentorship and support.

As our summer season comes to an end and we are gearing up to “Fall into Fall” I thought I’d share some memories from the past months of my second year here at Saucon Valley CC! I repeatedly found myself taking a pause to think about how truly lucky I am to work with such a tremendous team and be surrounded by an incredible membership. I have valued this educational process heavily; with gaining more independence on the leadership side and simultaneously learning in depth ways of communication across a diverse community, I will be carrying so many new skills in my professional career going forward. I am thrilled to be entering our fall and winter season together, and cannot wait for all of the joy it’s going to bring!
