https://lnkd.in/dSQgNRNi "Safeguarding our Democracy: A Bipartisan Discussion on Election Protection in Georgia". This event is being held in Atlanta and provides an opportunity for concerned citizens to engage in dialogue with election experts, public officials, and political scientists about the challenges and opportunities we currently face in safeguarding our democracy. Among other things, we will hear from Republicans, Democrats, independents, and nonpartisan groups about the work they are doing to ensure a free, fair, and orderly election this fall. We will address many questions, including: - Is there a realistic threat of fraud this fall? - Do we need to worry about voter suppression? - What happens if officials do not certify the election in a timely manner? - What can ordinary citizens do to help protect voting rights? - How do our democratic troubles compare and relate to the global decline in democracy? - What can we do to safeguard our democracy now and for the future? Please attend and/or spread the word (co-sponsored by the Georgia chapter of the Scholars Strategy Network, and several other collaborators, including The Carter Center)
