Invest in and Build Scalable Businesses Which Improve Quality Of Life
About us
SDG Global Group invests in and builds scalable business in the sustainability and finance sectors. We provide both advice and capital to grow businesses through our access to international markets, finance, technology, and expertise. We bring together industry experts, businesses and finance professionals to create and build businesses that seek to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We use our own capital, which means we can be more flexible than funds or other investment vehicles which typically have mandates or timescales to comply to: we can invest in any industry, at any stage of development, in any country, and with any investment structure. We invest globally, with a focus on those businesses whose technology, products, or services can be used in Emerging Markets, underdeveloped regions, or emerging sectors. Key sectors we invest in include heath, education, sustainability, food and agriculture, and fintech. We add value to our investments thru our teams' decades of experience in investment, technology transfer, and Emerging Markets.

A World Climate Foundation panel at #Davos on "Solutions for Climate and Nature", covering: * AI and #EmergingTechnologies: How can advancements in #AI and #tech enhance #data-driven decision-making, and fast-track #climate and #naturepositive #investments? * #GreenFinance Mechanisms: What financial innovations, such as #blendedfinance or #greenbonds, can unlock #funding for scalable, long-term solutions addressing climate and #biodiversity challenges? * Green Energy Solutions: How can #renewableenergy #projects integrate with #naturebased solutions to deliver measurable outcomes for both #climate and #nature? * Supply Chains: What practical steps can be taken to transform #supplychains into catalysts for biodiversity conservation and a low-carbon economy? Areas that many of our portfolio companies and partners are involved in. Plural Industry Holding Group

We've already seen governments fall in several places over the #migrants issue, and #immigration to escape #poverty #war #starvation #weather #drought #oppression has barely started compared to what's ahead as #climatechange makes more and more areas uninhabitable, and societies unstable. The Brookings Institution talk covered not only foreigners trying to get into the #usa but also projected migration from within the #US as more areas become too hot, wet, dry, windy, poor, unsafe, or fail to provide the opportunities or quality of life to keep or attract people. Some scary stats, and interesting ideas on where you should and should not be investing! To watch a recording, see https://lnkd.in/eHtbJw43

What's our plan for 2025? Predicting where the world will be the end of this year is beyond us; it's going to be a highly volatile and disruptive year. But we know what we're doing now, and what we want to get done the first part of this year. * Africa - under Trump the #usa is likely to take a more focused approach in dealing with the Continent, with greater speed and clarity from the US side, which will be good for getting transactions closed. We're expecting to significantly increase the number of transactions and investment vehicles and solutions we work on. We'll be starting with some of the #Africa transactions we worked on as part of The Earthshot Prize * Food #inflation and #insecurity played a part in much of the instability and changes of government in 2024, making securing supply and bringing down prices a priority for many governments. Which is good for our #food projects and #investors. We'll be funding up and deploying our existing solutions, and looking for more, as well as trading and providing #finance solutions for the sector. * Fintech - our #fintech activities have been focused mainly on the Global South, where there's a chronic and rapidly growing need for modern solutions and #capital. With #Trump committed to bringing the #US into the modern financial world, things are going to get even more interesting, and we'll be bringing some of what we've been working on to #unitedstates investors and partners. * Sustainable Housing - there's a chronic shortage of affordable #housing in many places. We're working with several companies that have #sustainable, #affordable solutions for building housing at scale, in both on and off grid areas, and putting the financing package together for it. * Water - we have projects in multiple countries focused on producing water sustainably and affordably for #agriculture, #industry and people. We're working on funding the solution providers and the projects. * Available, affordable #energy is vital for societies - we're working with technology and solution providers across the sector, and the communities and customers that need it, putting the deal structures and financing solutions together. * Education - #education is at the heart of most of our projects, to make sure that there's a transfer of skills, knowledge and experience to make the project self-sustaining. We'll be funding this with our own money, and with some of our friends and financiers. We'll also be making some of the opportunities available to the wider public, depending on jurisdiction, through: * the existing stock market listed companies we work with, with investors able to buy the shares through the market or in some cases via new issues; * investment vehicles we are creating; * #tokenization and listing on the #digitalexchanges we are working with, and the new #exchanges we are partnering with and building. That's enough to keep us busy for a few weeks - after that, am sure we can find something to do.

With nominations for The Earthshot Prize 2025 now closed, we've had a chance to start putting together the data and information on the projects that we nominated. Not surprisingly, nearly half of our projects are #Africa focused, with the second largest #usa followed by the #Caribbean #LatinAmerica Our new partner office and team in #London brought us our first project in a very long time from the #UnitedKingdom The projects covered a wide range of sectors, but again no surprise that the most projects are in #food and #agriculture followed by #biodiversity and #ecosystem restoration, with #waste third. Once the holidays are over, we'll be providing information on some of the 40+ projects that we nominated, and on how you can invest alongside us, SDG Global Capital and our partners in some of the projects.
