🚨 Blowout Non-Farm Payrolls Report: What Does It Mean for Stock Markets? 🚨 The US economy added an impressive 254k non-farm payrolls in September, far exceeding economists' expectations of 147k! 📊 This brings the 3-month moving average to 186k, marking its highest level since May 2024. Alongside, unemployment dropped to 4.1%, and average hourly earnings increased to 4.0% y/y. But what does this mean for stock markets? The 2-year Treasury yield surged above 4.6%, and according to the CME Group FedWatch Tool, markets now see a 95% chance of a 25-basis-point rate cut in November. The S&P 500 initially rallied but quickly faded as traders zeroed in on the Fed’s next move, placing market sentiment on shaky ground heading into next week. 📉 Curious about how these developments could affect monetary policy and investors like you? China, the world’s largest oil importer, plays a pivotal role in global demand. Historical data since Q1 2001 shows a strong correlation between Chinese imports and WTI crude oil prices. If stimulus efforts succeed, we may see increased demand and imports, supporting higher WTI prices. Seeking Alpha’s Quant team has already identified top energy stocks that could benefit in Q4 from these developments. Check them out here: https://lnkd.in/ePujFvWE
