Have you ever wondered how raw material transforms into durable thermoplastics used worldwide? Let’s take a quick look at the extrusion process! Customization: Fine-tuning every detail—from width and thickness to color and texture—ensuring each product meets exact specifications. Formulation: Like a baker mixing ingredients, combining raw materials and custom colors. Melting: The blend is heated in an extruder, turning it molten and pliable. Shaping: This molten material is pushed through a die, shaping it into a rigid thermoplastic sheet. Cooling: The newly shaped material is rapidly cooled, setting its structure and texture. Final product: The Newly formed sheets to be shaped into their final form are shipped worldwide for the market they will serve. Last week, SEKISUI KYDEX partnered with Career Ready Central PA and the CSIU / Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit / IU 16 to participate in "Building Tomorrow's Workforce Today." Sean Stabler and Michael Kessler joined K-12 teachers from across Central PA at Susquehanna University to explore how educational lesson plans can align with industry needs. From bridging the skills gap to preparing students for future jobs, the focus was on critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving.
