An executive pay strategy is especially important for early-stage companies, which typically have limited revenue, restricted cash, and an abundance of equity that can easily be awarded too fast and too soon.  But often, startups underestimate how complex executive comp is, or how it differs from the plan for employees.     Rising healthcare costs continue to pose a challenge for employers as they head into 2025. In a recent webinar hosted by Sequoia with experts from One Medical and Rightway, the discussion shed light on two major trends we need to focus on: ➡️An Escalation in Healthcare Renewals: The year 2024 has brought an alarming surge in healthcare costs. A majority of employers have recorded a 5-8% increase in healthcare renewals, while others have faced unprecedented hikes - entering the double digits. ➡️ Increasing Chronic Disease Prevalence: The prevalence of chronic diseases among Americans has significantly escalated, posing a challenge to healthcare provision and costs. Many of these diseases are preventable, and a shift towards preventive care and early screenings can manage health more efficiently. An integrated approach that combines preventive care with education about health benefits can lead to better chronic disease management - ultimately driving down healthcare costs.
