This year's theme—"Moving Forward Together: Women Educating and Inspiring Generations"—highlights pioneers like Mary Louisa Page, who became North America's first female architecture graduate in 1879, breaking down long-standing professional barriers. Page's remarkable journey began in 1874 as the only woman in her program at the University of Illinois. After graduating, she co-founded the firm Whitman & Page with a former classmate in 1887. However, her diverse career went beyond building design; she served as an educator, president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, an instructor in Blue Printing and Abstracting, and an accomplished author. Her legacy continues to inspire modern practitioners to create innovative spaces and challenge barriers across various design disciplines!
