In collaboration with the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women, we are telling the stories of 4 powerful women of color leaders on how they "step" into their power: SF Mayor London Breed, SF Board of Supervisors Myrna Melgar, SF City Administrator Carmen Chu, and California State Controller Malia Cohen. In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, we will be sharing their stories over the next few weeks so that YOU can step into your power too! #ShethePower #WomenofColorLead #WomensHistoryMonth #Herstory https://lnkd.in/gMkyFfMp

About us
She the People is a national network connecting women of color to transform our democracy. We are elevating and amplifying the voice and power of women of color as leaders, political strategists, organizers, and voters. She the People is building an inclusive, multiracial coalition driving a new progressive political and cultural era. She the People kicked off a national conversation with its inaugural She the People Summit on September 20, 2018 in San Francisco. The historic summit featured the nation’s most exciting progressive women of color leaders on the ballot, championing movements, and driving winning political strategy.

Our recent poll was less of a warning, and more of a call to action. Latinas are pivotal in the electorate and our data shows that we need to speak effectively to them to fully engage them in inclusive coalitions and political power. Here, Latin Times lays it out - ahead of the Univision special event with VP Harris https://lnkd.in/gb6_tTD5

Thrilled to share our groundbreaking poll on women of color voters - the only one this election cycle. We insist on data on women of color who are critical as the base of voters, and largely ignored and misunderstood by pollsters. Join Aimee Allison and pollster Tom Ogorzalek of the 2040 Strategy Group on the top lines. Hint - it brings into focus Latina and Asian American women voters who are undecided, the power of our linked fate politics, and the issues that increase support for Kamala Harris.

Thank you BBC News this was a great opportunity to talk about how Kamala Harris shows us how to hold our own on the debate stage

“She’s using something that a lot of black women have used effectively, which is to insist on their time, and to insist to be heard,” said Ms Allison. “She’s very effective in making sure that she is heard, and respected.” https://lnkd.in/giPbMsYq #shethepeople #kamalaharris #debate #blackwomen #womenofcolor

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you! On September 6th, we will be launching She the People, a new podcast in collaboration with Design Observer, focused on amplifying the voices and leadership of women of color in our multiracial democracy. Would you take a moment to follow/subscribe here https://lnkd.in/eNkpgjEh As someone who’s been alongside us in this journey, I wanted to personally invite you to subscribe to the podcast ahead of its release. In each episode, we’ll dive deep into the stories, insights, and strategies of Black, Latina, Asian American Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and Native women leaders who are shaping the future of our nation. We’ll explore crucial questions like how to build coalitions, honor complex identities, and break through institutions designed to exclude. These conversations are more important now than ever, especially with Vice President Kamala Harris, a Jamaican-Indian American woman, leading the Democratic ticket for President. Your early support means the world to me. By subscribing now, you’ll ensure you don’t miss an episode and help us reach a wider audience when we launch. You can subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Thank you for being part of this journey. I can’t wait to share these powerful conversations with you.
