Earlier this week, our team celebrated an incredible milestone — Shearer's 50th anniversary! ✨🎉 Our corporate office honored the day with food, ice cream, outdoor games, and a special golden ticket giveaway for a chance to win a cash prize. In a surprise move, the mayor of Massillon stopped by to award Shearer's with a certificate officially naming August 14th as "Shearer's Foods Day" for our positive impact on the community.    Once a small family-owned operation in Ohio, Shearer's has grown over the past five decades to become a leading co-manufacturer of snack foods in North America, with 16 facilities across the U.S. and Canada. As we celebrate 50 years, we're reminded that our success has been possible because of our incredible team's dedication, passion, and hard work. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us! 

Shearer's had a fantastic time participating in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Grand Parade this past Saturday! 🌟🏈 Over 30 team members carried the Max & Ruby floats across downtown Canton to support the Hall of Fame's Enshrinement Week. During the parade, Kim Davenport, Shearer's Culture, Diversity, and Engagement Director, was honored as the 2024 General Chairman of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival. Since January, Kim and the General Vice Chair have led more than 2,500 volunteers to help with the planning, coordination, and execution of all the festival events. With over a decade of experience working at our Brewster site in Ohio, Quality and Food Safety Manager Vickie Simpson knows what it takes to produce the perfect chip. Shearer’s is thrilled to mark the 10-year anniversary of our Waterford plant in Pennsylvania. Over the past decade, Waterford has grown from 27 employees to over 200, producing kettle chips, baked chips, and extruded products for our country’s top snack brands.   Our Waterford team celebrated the day with shaved ice, fun carnival games, and fundraising for charity. Here’s to another ten years of growth!

Shearer’s wishes all a happy Independence Day! Independence Day — also known as July 4th —  is celebrated every year on July 4th in the United States and commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, freeing America from British rule and marking the birth of America as its own country. We also send celebratory wishes to our Canadian friends who observed Canada Day on July 1, which honors their confederation that took place in 1867. On that day, the Constitution Act of 1867 united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia into a single dominion within the British Empire called Canada. Many people celebrate both holidays with good food, family & friends. Happy snacking! 🎉

Shearer's team members attended the SNAC International Women in Snacks (WinS) Summit in Washington, D.C., earlier this month to learn more about leadership development and advancement for female snack industry professionals. Over 40 men and women participated in a day of education covering topics of writing your own rules for success, powering your voice for meaningful connection, showing up and moving up, and critical conversations for leadership.
