Watson Mountain Middle School is Loudoun County Public Schools' 100th school — and yet it's also so much more than that. Today's dedication ceremony was a moving tribute — honoring the generations who came before and empowering the generations yet to come. Loudoun Now has the story (see link.) “This day is more than just the opening of a new school, it's a testament to the generations of people who have dedicated themselves to public education in Loudoun County, and it's a celebration of the rich history and tradition that continues to shape our community,” said School Board Chair Melinda Mansfield. #k12 #schools

Rob Wagoner, VP of Operations at Shockey, was honored to serve on ABC Virginia Chapter's "The GC Perspective" panel to a packed audience at the Westwood Country Club in Northern Virginia last week. Jennings, Inc., and TEEL Construction, Inc. came together to reflect on industry trends, economic indicators, and the future of construction. Shockey was founded over a century ago, in 1896. Over the years, we've noticed that many of our clients are also longstanding companies that continue to grow and prosper. For example, OakCrest Builders is a real estate organization celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. Many years ago, we built their corporate headquarters by adaptively reusing a historic knitting mill in Winchester. Their award-winning building looks as vibrant today as it did when it first opened. The Topping-Out celebration is a time-honored tradition that marks the culmination of a building's structural phase, when the entire team comes together to place the last steel beam into place.
