It's also National Healthcare Environmental Services Week and an opportune time to introduce you to the team that keeps our facility shining on a daily basis. These departments are the first line of defense in infection control by ensuring environments are free of surface contamination across the organization. They are directly responsible for servicing and cleaning 173,000 sq. feet of the health center campus including the hospital, clinic and nursing home. In addition, they launder approximately 50,000 lbs. of laundry per month. To say the least, we are proud to have them as a part of our CARE team! In late April 2024, Dr. Peter Deveaux, a general surgeon at Sidney Health Center, embarked on a voluntary mission to Ukraine. This mission, in partnership with the American College of Surgeons and Harvard University’s Humanitarian Program, aimed to train Ukrainian physicians in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). The goal was to empower them to become certified instructors and sustain the program within their country. Dr. Deveaux spent nearly three weeks at Ukraine Medical University, training 20 physicians and residents. He worked under challenging conditions, including limited electricity, no heat, and daily rocket alerts that sometimes required shelter. Despite these obstacles, Dr. Deveaux stayed safe, as he was several hours from the front lines. His 14 years of U.S. Army service had well-prepared him for these conditions. We’re excited to introduce Chloe Senn, FNP, who is joining our medical team to provide both urology and primary care services! Chloe joined our CARE team in 2017, starting as a Registered Nurse, and now returning as a Family Nurse Practitioner after earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Family Practice. Sidney Health Center partners with VirtuCare, a leading provider of urologic services, to enhance access to premier urologic care for residents of the MonDak region through telemedicine. With the addition of Chloe, patients receive local care for a wide range of urological conditions, including enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, low testosterone, kidney stones, recurring UTIs, elevated PSA levels, and voiding complaints. Later this fall, Chloe will begin seeing patients in the Same-Day Clinic in addition to her work with the tele-urology service. Join us in welcoming Chloe back to Sidney Health Center!
