Sidney Health Center is excited to announce that Dr. Aaron J. Franke has joined Sidney Health Center's Cancer Care team as a full-time Medical Oncologist! Dr. Franke, who has been serving our community since August 2023, brings extensive experience from his roles at the University of Florida and UF Health Cancer Center. He is board-certified in oncology, hematology, and internal medicine, specializing in treating head and neck cancers, lung cancer, blood disorders, and more. “Dr. Franke has already made a positive impact during his time as a locum physician, and we are excited to have him join our Cancer Care team on a full-time basis,” said Jennifer Doty, Chief Executive Officer of Sidney Health Center. “His dedication to patient care and his ability to connect with our community make him a perfect fit for Sidney Health Center. Meet Joan Turek, PA-C.  Joan joined Sidney Health Center in March 2021 and sees patients in the Primary Care Clinic, working closely with Dr. Swayne. She specializes in caring for children, offering services that include wellness checkups, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, as well as monitoring and treating chronic conditions. Joan finds great joy in working with children and helping them achieve healthy and active lives. She strongly believes in the importance of preventive care and emphasizes early detection as crucial for improving patient outcomes and prolonging lives. Outside of work, Joan enjoys reading, crafts, and DIY projects. She loves exploring the great outdoors, particularly kayaking, paddleboarding, and walking her Golden Retriever. This recognition highlights our commitment to improving patient care by adhering to the latest guidelines. The post-acute care initiative makes it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, which studies show can help patients recover better. The end goal is to ensure more people in the MonDak Region can experience longer, healthier lives. Meet Amie Schillinger, PA-C. Amie recently the joined Sidney Health Center Orthopedic Clinic in August working alongside Dr. Anderson, Dr. Scott, and Dr. Sigmond. Schillinger provides new patient evaluations, treats fractures, offers post-operative care, conducts physicals, and assists in surgical cases. Outside of work, Amie is an avid sports enthusiast, often found following her kids' sporting activities or cheering for Sidney Eagle Football and Montana Grizzly athletics. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and loves running and hiking. Her background as a lifeguard in high school and college underscores her lifelong connection to fitness and well-being. Meet Bert Lepel, PA-C. Bert joined Sidney Health Center in July of 2016 and sees patients in the Primary Care Clinic. Lepel sees adults ages 18 and older in the clinic under the supervision of Dr. Karanjai. Services offered include wellness checkups, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries as well as the monitoring and treatment of chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma. Bert holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bob Jones University and completed the Physician Assistant Program at Trevecca Nazarene College. He furthered his education with public health studies at Tulane University and earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, continually advancing his medical knowledge over the years.
