On July 29th, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the National Aeronautics and Space Act, establishing NASA. The newly established organization absorbed the assets of its predecessor, NACA, including the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Fun Fact: The Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility, previously named Plum Brook Station, is where SLI’s founders started their early engineering careers. Above are photos of President Eisenhower and Dr. T. Keith Glennan, Administrator of NASA, reviewing photos of Satellite Tiros I in April of 1960 (Abbie Rowe), and the GRC Rocket Engine Testing Facility Building 202, which was deconstructed in 2003 (Library of Congress). #NASA #NASA1958 #NASAHistory

Last month, our NASA White Sands Test Facility Fire Department answered the call to fight out-of-control wildfires near Ruidoso, New Mexico. Lieutenant Gary Sida, Firefighter Steven Olsson, Firefighter Gabriel Rodriguez, Driver/Engineer Tommy Montoya, and others fought bravely for two days. We are proud and grateful to these members of our Wolf Pack. To read more about their bravery, check out the upcoming issue of our WolfTracks newsletter coming soon to our website and social media. 🚀Xplora News: A Major Milestone with the US Army! 🚀 We are thrilled to announce that our “SLIX RMDS” Blackbox was recently utilized by the military during exercises at Fort Leonard Wood, as highlighted in the official US Army blog. This is an immense source of pride for Xplora and its US partner Sierra Lobo! Link: https://lnkd.in/d68EVNaW An official from the US Army stated:   “Today we are assessing a means to detect explosive hazards. We are working on detecting threats that are buried or partially buried that could kill Soldiers and destroy equipment. This is one of the first looks we have had at something that is UAS-borne that could potentially detect hazards without putting Soldiers into the threat.” These words emphasize the importance and effectiveness of our system, which uses proprietary AI algorithms to enhance soldier safety and prevent damage to military equipment. Our UAS-borne technology not only reduces risk for personnel but also represents a significant advancement in detecting explosive threats. This recognition motivates us to continue developing innovative solutions for military operations. 🌍🔍 A special thanks to our partner Sierra Lobo, Inc., who arranged for everyone’s active participation and led the effort. #Xplora #sierralobo #Slix #Innovation #MilitaryTechnology #USArmy #Safety #Defense #TerrainExploration #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ML #Startup #ItalianStartup 📍 Xplora Srl, Via Marco Biagi 24, Parma (PR) Italy 📧 info@xploragroup.ai
