Today was our last Lunch at the Library! 📖 School-aged children joined the Porterville Library for exercise, lunch, and learning. Malynda, our Senior Public & Community Relations Specialist, presented. From social media to billboards and fundraising, children learned about SVMC marketing and the Sierra View Foundation. Thank you, Malynda, for teaching our young community members, and a big thank you to the Porterville Library for having us this summer!

At Sierra View Medical Center, we are committed to addressing critical healthcare issues and improving health outcomes in our community. Today, our President and CEO, Donna, participated in the Central Valley CEO Section Meeting for the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California. As the Section Chair, Donna and other local healthcare leaders discussed important topics such as mental health, Medi-Cal, and healthcare affordability. Together, we are committed to ensuring high-quality, equitable care for all.

Yesterday, our GME Rapid Response Team participated in a Code Blue Simulation. These simulations are conducted twice a month to ensure our GME Residents are always ready for any emergency. A big thank you to Dr. Obad, our GME Associate Program Director for leading today's session, and our Health Educator, Christine, for organizing these stimulations for our team!

This comprehensive tour offers an in-depth look at our 4th-floor facilities, including triage, labor & delivery, postpartum, and NICU. Our virtual tour allows parents to experience our state-of-the-art facilities and meet our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. We have also introduced NEW educational materials specifically designed for expecting parents. These antepartum resources are meant to be reviewed prior to a hospital visit, ensuring thorough preparation for delivery and the initial stages of parenthood. We are excited to announce that our second Graduate Medical Education class is entering their final year of Internal Medicine Residency! Over the past two years, these residents have gained valuable knowledge and insights right here in our community. We can’t wait to see them thrive and make a significant impact in Tulare County and beyond. With this new graduating class, we also have the pleasure of introducing our new Chief Residents: Dr. Pauldeep Mann, Dr. Samantha Limvalencia, and Dr. Akashdeep Khahera. Their dedication and passion will inspire and lead our Internal Medicine Residents in the coming year. The Sierra View Local Health Care District Board of Directors, made up of five members, governs Sierra View Medical Center. The Board holds monthly meetings to vote on District matters, discuss the hospital's state, and receive feedback from employees and the community. Seats for Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be open. Please note that District 3 is only a 2-year term. The candidate application period is July 15 - August 9.
