On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Sinai Chicago celebrated the first graduating corps of the Sinai AmeriCorps Initiative. This year Sinai AmeriCorps members helped to improve health outcomes and support patients and community members through reminder phone calls, wellness check-ins and COVID19 and health education. We are excited to announce that 46% of this year’s corps have signed up to serve again in the upcoming corps year. We look forward to hosting another great corps of AmeriCorps Interns.

Sinai Chicago has been proud to be part of the Family Connects Chicago initiative since its inception; we were one of the pilot hospitals for home visits through the program. Sinai Community Institute and Sinai Urban Health Institute co-lead Community Alignment Boards on the West and Southwest Sides of Chicago that guide and amplify the impact of Family Connects Chicago through incorporating community voice and perspective. #SUHIChicago #SinaiChicago #HealthEquity #FamilyConnects
CDPH had the honor of hosting the Family Connects Chicago Conference on July 11 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Over 160 partners attended, including community organizations, nurses and other healthcare providers, and families to discuss health equity and celebrate our 2023 achievements. CDPH Commissioner Dr. Simbo Ige shared her personal experiences, highlighting the stark disparities in birthing experiences. The conference celebrated the impact of Family Connects and recognized the contributions of our dedicated nurses. Together, we’re ensuring all Chicago newborns and families receive the quality healthcare and support they need. https://lnkd.in/g6rbBQdc #FamilyConnects #CDPH #HealthEquity
