  • 🔎𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗗𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 to study the influence of maternal high fat diet on the structure and function of the dopaminergic mesocorticolimbic system of the offspring in a rat model 🖊️ 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Aim of the project is to employ a preclinical model in experimental rats to determine whether the exposure to a maternal diet rich in fat during the perinatal and gestational period can induce changes in the structure, function and connectivity of the mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic system in the offspring. To this end, the present project will evaluate and correlate behavioral, biochemical and morphological parameters at two different moments of postnatal life: adolescence and adulthood. 🏢 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿: Prof. Nicola Simola 📍 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Cagliari  🗓 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: January 9, 2025 📄 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Applications must be submitted through this link: https://lnkd.in/d5rT2MRM   🌐 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸: https://lnkd.in/dWup3w8Z

  • ❗𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘❗(ASSEGNO DI RICERCA, 1 YEAR; PhD not required for application) under the supervision of prof. Marco Mainardi 🔎 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The project aims to clarify how synaptic structure and composition underlie learning and memory, addressing unresolved questions about the role of specific neuronal sub-compartments and changes in synaptic proteins during plasticity. By using recombinant proteins and adeno-associated vectors to visualize and analyze synapses in the hippocampus—both in healthy and neurodegenerative models—the study seeks a deeper understanding of how the molecular basis of synaptic plasticity contributes to memory formation and the development of cognitive impairments. The Candidate should be proficient in at least 2 among the following techniques: • Neuroanatomy, immunofluorescence and confocal imaging • Stereotaxic surgery for intracerebral delivery of gene constructs • Protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation • Molecular cloning and gene construct amplification. 🏢 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿: Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Padova   📍 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Padua  🗓 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: January 14, 2025 👉 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿: Assegno di Ricerca, 1 year 📄 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Anyone interested to apply for this call is warmly invited to contact Marco Mainardi at the e-mail address marco.mainardi@unipd.it. • ❗𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗗𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 ❗under the supervision of Prof. Marco Mainardi 🔎 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The project aims to investigate the structural and molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic plasticity, which are essential for learning and memory. Specifically, it will focus on understanding how the rearrangement of synaptic structures and changes in the synaptic proteome contribute to memory storage and cognitive processes. The project will utilize recombinant proteins for imaging and molecular analysis of synapses, which will be expressed in the hippocampus—a key brain region involved in learning and memory—using adeno-associated vectors. These studies will be conducted in both healthy rodents and transgenic models of neurodegeneration to explore the topography and proteomics of synaptic plasticity. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in at least two of the following techniques: neuroanatomy, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging | stereotaxic surgery for intracerebral gene delivery | protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation | molecular cloning and gene construct amplification. 🏢 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿: University of Padua   📍 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Padua  🗓 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: December 2nd, 2024 👉 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿: Postdoctoral research fellowship | Contract length: 1 year 📄 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Anyone interested to apply for this call is warmly invited to contact Marco Mainardi (marco.mainardi@unipd.it)  🌐 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸: https://lnkd.in/di_7T2Tb
