CDR In Action! ✨ This video showcases the application of a #Biochar and #compost blend in local #vineyard #soils, supporting CDR and #regenerativeagriculture practices. Sitos biochar is rooted in sound #agriculture practices as it is made by Growers and used by Growers. By incorporating biochar into soils, we foster a #sustainable and resilient #ecosystem that benefits both the #environment and crops.

  • Regenerating Soil, Sequestering Carbon, and Redefining Impact 🌿 At Sitos Group, we don’t just make biochar—we see it through every step of its journey: biochar made by growers and used by growers. With the support of our sister companies, we create it, apply it, and ensure its long-term impact. ♻️ On a recent tour, we showcased how our fully integrated approach transforms biomass into lasting climate and soil solutions—closing the carbon loop and keeping carbon where it belongs: in the soil. But carbon removal is just part of the story. The real impact lies in biochar’s ability to revitalize soil, prevent desertification, retain moisture, and reduce nitrate leaching and synthetic fertilizer use. Healthier soils mean more resilient crops, stronger plants, and long-term environmental benefits. That’s where large-scale biochar impact takes root. 🌾 At Sitos Group, carbon sequestration isn’t just a commitment—it’s a responsibility we uphold through action. Together, we’re closing the loop. 🌱♻️ 🚜 Biochar injection equipment by Soil Amendment Injection, LLC. #RegenerativeAgriculture #Biochar #SitosGroup #SustainableFarming #CarbonRemoval

🌱 Biochar is Making Its Way Into More Ag Soils 🌎 Another step forward for biochar in California agriculture! In Morro Bay, a regenerative, organic farm is applying a biochar/compost blend to its avocado orchard—thanks to a grant secured with the help of the Upper Salinas - Las Tablas Resource Conservation District. This blend will enhance the structure, fertility, and moisture dynamics of Los Osos loam soils, making them more resilient and productive for both agriculture and native plant growth. These spot applications on smaller farms are an exciting sign of progress, but scaling biochar into commercial crop production is the next frontier. How do we bridge the gap between small-scale successes and broader industry adoption? Biochar TRIALS! Sitos Group is launching a commercial-scale biochar trial in almonds and will be sharing details soon! We’re celebrating these local wins while continuing to push for biochar’s role in large-scale, climate-smart agriculture. Are you a commercial-scale farmer exploring biochar? Or know someone who is? Let’s connect! What do you see as the biggest opportunity—or challenge—for scaling biochar in agriculture? #Biochar #RegenerativeAgriculture #SoilHealth #CarbonSequestration #SitosGroup #SustainableFarming #ClimateSmartAg

  • 🌎 Custom Biochar: Giving Every Soil the Support It Needs🌱 California’s vast landscape is home to a wide variety of soil types—from the rich, loamy soils of the Central Valley to the arid, sandy soils of the deserts. Each region has unique needs when it comes to soil health, water retention, and carbon sequestration. 🌿 At Sitos Group, we’re developing customizable biochar to meet these diverse soil requirements. Through our slow pyrolysis technology, we will have the ability to fine-tune internal reactor temperatures and biochar residency times, allowing us to create biochar with varying pH levels and key characteristics. The goal? To combat desertification, improve soil fertility, and bring carbon back into the ground—where it belongs. 💪 Together, we’re turning carbon challenges into climate solutions—one soil type at a time. 🌿♻️ #SitosGroup #Biochar #RegenerativeAgriculture #CarbonSequestration #SoilHealth #ClimateSolutions

  • 🍷 Biochar & Carbon Removal in Viticulture 🌱 At the 2025 Unified Wine and Grape Symposium, Mayo P. Ryan, AFM led insightful roundtable discussions on biochar’s role in carbon removal and vineyard sustainability. Takeaways from the conversation: ✅ Biochar enables quantifiable carbon removal, unlocking a new revenue stream for growers through insetting with biochar—reducing fertilizer use, lowering water needs, improving soil health, and storing carbon back in the soil. 📌 Policy matters: As interest in carbon sequestration grows, staying ahead of key initiatives is crucial: • USDA Code 336 (Healthy Soils Initiative – CA) • SB 308 —Shaping the future of carbon removal While these programs continue to evolve, growers who act now will be best positioned to leverage incentives and future regulations. Mayo also tackled biochar quality, feedstock variations, and its bipartisan role in carbon removal—critical factors for long-term success. A fantastic discussion on how biochar is a game-changer for viticulture and beyond! 🌍 ♻️ Looking forward to continuing the conversation. #Biochar #CarbonRemoval #SustainableAgriculture #WineIndustry #ClimateSolutions #RegenerativeFarming

  • Biochar Represents 86% of CDR Delivery Volume in 2024! 🪨 The latest CDR.fyi report highlights a big year for durable Carbon Dioxide Removal (#CDR), with 318.6K tonnes delivered in 2024—a 120% increase from 2023. The driving force behind this surge? BIOCHAR! 📌 86% of all CDR delivered in 2024 came from #biochar, reinforcing its role as the most shovel-ready and scalable solution for durable carbon removal. Over the past five years, biochar has accounted for 83% of total CDR deliveries, proving its reliability as a key pillar of the industry. 📈 The price per tonne for biochar-based carbon removal rose from $140 in 2023 to $165 in 2024, signaling growing confidence from buyers and investors in its durability and impact. Research, such as https://lnkd.in/eVDnMpzy, continues to validate biochar’s long-term sequestration potential and its ability to deliver credits quicker than other CDR methods. 🚨 But here’s the challenge: The number of unique CDR buyers isn’t keeping pace. While delivery volumes soar, buyer growth has been slow and linear from 2023 to 2024. Now is the time for the industry to ramp up education, advocacy, and policy support to accelerate adoption and scale carbon removal! The demand is clear. The supply is ready. Let’s bridge the gap and push CDR forward. https://lnkd.in/gyctd_DA #Biochar #CarbonRemoval #CDR #Sustainability #ClimateAction #NetZero
