October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM)!
This year's theme, "Access to Good Jobs for All," reminds us that ALL jobseekers, regardless of ability or experience, should have equal access to the hiring process and an opportunity to join the RI workforce. In fact, at Skills for Rhode Island's Future and workABILITY, we've made it our mission to remove as many barriers to employment as possible, engaging with our employer partners to consider candidates who bring tremendous value to a role or their business but who may not be a fit according to traditional expectations. We work to "move that needle" every day, but our job is far from done!
Please join us in support of our mission and to learn more about inclusion hiring and tapping into this diverse source of talent by attending RI's NDEAM event, a Disabilities Hiring Resource Symposium at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Tuesday, October 15. There, you will hear from the Governor's office, the Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training, industry leaders in workforce and economic development, and connect with employer partners who have committed to inclusion hiring, like RISE, Ocean State Job Lot, and Bally’s Corporation.
