Enjoyed hearing about the impactful work of Junior Achievement of Rhode Island at yesterday’s JA Executive Council meeting. Pleased to see the launch of the RI Experiential Leaning Navigator (Riexl.org) scheduled for January, 2025- a project that #FidelityCares2024 worked collaboratively on with Partnership for Rhode Island, Skills for Rhode Island's Future, Rhode Island Governor's Workforce Board, Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, Rhode Island Department of Education, Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training and Rhode Island Commerce. A great public/private/nonprofit partnership that meets the needs of our state, students, educators and employers alike. Grateful for the thoughtful participation and generous support of RI House Speaker Joe Shekarchi and RI General Treasurer James Diossa as well- especially this time of year! Thanks to Christopher Graham and Locke Lord LLP for hosting!

Paving the way for Inclusion with employers across Rhode Island in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month! On October 15, Skills for Rhode Island's Future Executive Director Nina Pande and the #workABILITY team proudly joined industry leaders at Rhode Island’s first-ever NDEAM event, a Disabilities Hiring Resource Symposium co-sponsored by the Rhode Island Governor's Workforce Board and Rhode Island Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS). The event introduced and inspired employers to value inclusive hiring practices. This year's theme, "Access to Good Jobs for All," highlights the untapped talent available to fill roles and the importance of equitable opportunities. We were thrilled to connect with new partners like Cafe International, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Tailor-Made Training, and The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company, and to see our existing partners Trinity Repertory Company, Ocean State Job Lot, and Davidson Hospitality Group reaffirm their commitment to inclusive hiring. A special shoutout to RISE (pictured) for their longtime support of #SkillsRI! Stephen Dolinich shared his work building capacity for Inclusion hiring, and we were proud to watch him, Cassandra Iasiello (Sr. Talent Acquisition Partner), and Vincent Graziano (President/CEO) accept an Employer Excellence award. While we’re inspired by the national and state efforts to devote October to disability employment awareness, there’s still more work to be done. At workABILITY, we’re committed to building pathways to employment for all jobseekers and employers, every month of the year. Want to get involved?
