We’ve delivered a wide range of case studies, branded films, event videos and other content for the investment firm, Singer Capital Markets, and we love bringing to life their commitment to their people. Through the firm’s Social Impact Fund, which focuses on environmental sustainability, wellbeing and equal opportunity, they’re making a big difference with their work and it’s something we’re proud to support. Using animation, motion graphics, b-roll film and voiceover, we recently created a film snapshot into the brand’s heritage and culture, ready for them to sponsor The Sunday Times Hundred 2024 - a guide to Britain’s fastest-growing private companies. At Sledge we love being part of events that really make a difference. That’s why we were so happy to support the TEDxKings Parade St conference at the end of the summer. Hosted by Meltem Avcil, a former refugee and child-detainee turned campaigner, this powerful event gave a platform to those with important, personal stories to tell, leaving a lasting impact on delegates. While the speakers did an incredible job bringing their personal stories to life, we were there to ensure the event not only ran smoothly on the day, but was recorded for anyone else who wanted to hear these stories. Research from Wunderman Thompson shows that 78% of people think awe-inspiring experiences help them connect to the world, while almost 70% enjoy spending time in places that spark imagination. But how can we make that a reality at events? 🌍 Change the environment: To really engage an audience, we need them to step away from their usual surroundings. When designing your creative space, you need to think about the emotions you want delegates to feel. You can even use existing office spaces, provided you’ve put thought into how you’re going to evoke the messages you want to get across. 📖 Physical learning: From visual to auditory, reading and more, we all learn in different ways. If you’re trying to teach your audience something new, it’s great to try different creative techniques, but they need to be inclusive. By including different options you’ll make learning accessible to everyone, leading to better outcomes. ♥️ Excite the senses: Moments of surprise can be a way to break up the ordinary and make an experience memorable. As well as using visually impressive venues, Like Mercedes Benz World, Kew Gardens or a historic hotel, you should also be shaking up traditional thinking. How we respond to touch, smell and taste is just as important as what we see and hear, so why not incorporate these into your event? What are your surefire ways of bringing creativity to life? #Sledge #SledgeEvents #Creativity #CreativeEvents

As an agency, one of the things we love most about working with clients is getting to unpack the brief. Nailing down the perfect brief might seem straightforward, but in reality we can add a lot of value with creative, strategic thinking. Whether the client is looking for a nature-focused venue in central London or a filming location that combines adventure with sustainability, the initial brief that pops to mind isn’t always what’s needed to get the best from the event. That’s why it’s our job to tease out the real intentions for the business and pitch outside the box. 🚴 One of our long-standing clients asked for a central London product launch at a venue that would attract a huge audience. We pitched Lee Valley Velodrome for the concept. Although its location meant it didn’t fit the initial brief, we were able to better focus on the brand’s core objectives, pushing their product's message and enhancing the theme of acceleration. 🟢 When we worked on our FACT Dialogue event, our client needed to engage a global, public audience, while maintaining accessibility, tone of voice and visual impact. We created a bold impact, by encouraging school children to challenge leading brands on their sustainability planning. Flagging areas of weakness might not seem like the obvious marketing strategy, but in reality it did exactly what was needed- opening up an accessible dialogue. Have you ever had a brief go in a different direction to how you thought it would? Share in the comments below. #Sledge #EventProfs #Events #Brief #Strategy

In a fast-paced industry, it’s easy for people to put their mental wellbeing to the back of the agenda. But as an employee-owned company, we work collaboratively to make sure people are truly at the forefront of the business. We provide forums where everyone can contribute, to ensure we’re creating a brand where people feel happy, so they can better achieve their full potential. That’s why we take the mental wellbeing of our people so seriously, and we’re always trying to find new ways to make sure the working environment has a positive impact on everyone's lives. Flexible hours aren’t always possible during an event, but during regular office hours, you can make sure people have the chance to work from home for part of the week. You can also offer days in lieu for overtime during events and busy periods, giving people the chance to catch up and rest. Staying close to friends and family is an important part of wellbeing, which is why our birthday holidays, moving day holidays and early Valentine’s Day check outs are popular in the office. We also recommend paid charity days, which gives people the chance to focus on something meaningful outside their day job. Access to mental health apps, such as Mind, can be really useful tools for employees. We’ve also found it valuable to ensure our people have a safe space to share, which is why we’ve introduced external coaching sessions to encourage everyone’s unique journey. How do you support your employees? Tell us in the comments below. #Sledge #Events #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

Sustainability isn’t always the easiest topic to understand. The science and political decision-making behind climate change interventions can be overwhelming, making it harder for people to engage with. At Sledge we’re storytellers, and we pride ourselves on being able to translate complex information into something that’s relatable and digestible for our audiences. 🌳 One great example is the work we did around the Forest, Agriculture and Commodity Trade (FACT) Dialogue, a government initiative to support more sustainable practices in countries that trade in agricultural commodities like oils. Last year we were tasked with creating a global virtual event to educate the general public across the world about deforestation and raise awareness of the FACT Dialogue. 🧒 We launched with an animated video summarising the issues around deforestation, followed by a Q&A session for primary school students with four leading brands. The children grilled leaders with hard-hitting questions about their sustainability goals, using their childhood honesty to expose where the brands needed to make further change. 📹 The event was streamed from here and via the Cop26 YouTube channel, reaching wider audiences with the content. Not only was this event impactful at the time, but the Dialogue remains highly relevant today, and we’re still using our work to raise awareness of it. Do you find it overwhelming to establish a strategy and objectives when you’re planning a company event? You’re not alone. In fact, it’s one of the most common challenges that our clients face. Even when there’s a rough plan, without a clear ‘why’ for every element of the experience, even the most elaborate events can miss the mark. Last week our Managing Director, Sarah, appeared on the Event Industry News podcast, to talk about the importance of event strategy and working towards established KPIs. From breaking down the true meaning behind buzz words, to showing stakeholders the value of your event, she explains how Sledge gets to the heart of the story every time, moving it forward to help clients to reach their goals. Listen now to learn more about the true meaning of strategy, and the ways you can boost your planning skills for your next event: https://lnkd.in/dKvhwz-D #Sledge #Events #EventProfs #Podcast

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being on-site to deliver an event that was several months in the making: HPE Aruba Networking Day 2024, held at Mercedes Benz World. It was a genuine delight to be on-site with such a great client, and alongside such a dedicated team all committed to delivering the best event possible. Days like these are truly the highlights of my job and the sense of accomplishment post-event can't be beaten. Some of my highlights from the day were: 🏁 Seeing such a unique venue taken over by our client's colourful and eye-catching branding, which really made the space come to life and feel like a special event. 🤝 130+ delegates all given the chance to meet and interact in a meaningful way and to form a connection over a shared interest. 🚗 Many delegates had the opportunity to take part in the on-site driving experiences, which provided a spectacle for all during the afternoon breaks - something I would love to return to the venue to try for myself! ✅ The positive feedback both on the day and post-event makes the weeks and months of planning all worth it. Knowing that our client is happy and that our work is appreciated and worthwhile is incredibly rewarding. None of this would have been possible without the weeks of hard work and dedication from the entire Sledge team, and a huge thank you to Kate Fautly in particular who was the powerhouse and the mastermind behind the entire operation! 😁 Thank you to our wonderful clients at HPE Aruba Networking, Lois Edwards and Alex Truscott for your cooperation and patience throughout and for giving us the opportunity to deliver such a memorable event! 🥂 And finally, thank you to the team at Mercedes Benz World for helping us bring our vision to life and again for your cooperation from the start to finish of this project - Katy Homan, Abigail Cromarty, and Elizabeth Boothby, none of this would have been possible without your help and attention to detail! 💐 #Sledge #SledgeEvents #Mercedes #HPE #CorporateEvents #Eventprofs

Today marks the official start of Black History Month, an event which celebrates the contributions of people with African and Caribbean heritage to British society. It’s also an opportunity for others to learn about Black history and culture in the UK and appreciate the diversity within our country. The official theme for 2024 is reclaiming narratives, to shine a brighter light on individual stories. At Sledge one of our core goals is to empower brands and drive purpose through authentic storytelling, so we’re excited to see the impact of the stories from BHM. Check out some of the events happening throughout the country this month: 🏙️ A number of Black History city walking tours will take place throughout October, focusing on the Black history and culture specific to the local area. Check out what’s happening in your region and join in! 🛍️ If you’re in London, head over to the Black Culture Market in Brixton this weekend. With more than 40 traders to choose from, you’ll also be supporting emerging entrepreneurs and local businesses. 🎭 Educational theatre performances are happening up and down the country. Check out https://lnkd.in/dp7y6ma to discover what’s on in your area. They’ve also got listings for comedy and music performances. 🖼️ Over in the North West, the Museum of Liverpool will be playing host to a series of stories from inspirational Black people who have ties to the city. It’s a free exhibit and there’s plenty of other interesting things to see in the museum too. 🎨 Head to Wandsworth to see artist Kay Rufai bring the S.M.I.L.E-ing BOYS PROJECT to Southside’s upper mall. This month-long photography exhibition is inspired by his mission to empower young black boys through art.
