This week, New York Director Lindsey Vigoda, MSW and National Small Business Council member Janna Rodriguez attended the Empire State Campaign for Child Care’s advocacy day in Albany. There, local organizers and parents rallied for improved salaries for childcare workers and advocated for a universal childcare system that benefits all families.

What a remarkable day in Santa Fe. We joined the SOUTHWEST WOMENS LAW CENTER and countless other advocates to discuss why #paidfamilyandmedicalleave is essential to our state. Small Business Majority attended to showcase how this program would be instrumental to supporting small businesses and their employees. I was joined by these five amazing business owners and entrepreneurs. This year’s New Mexico Paid Family and Medical Leave Day of Action was a resounding success! Yesterday, Public Policy Director Awesta Sarkash, M.P.S. hosted a day of action in Santa Fe in partnership with SOUTHWEST WOMENS LAW CENTER and New Mexico’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Coalition. Attendees spoke with lawmakers on the importance of paid leave and advocated for passing the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. Thank you to our amazing partners and New Mexico Small Business Council members Shayai Lucero, Sheyenne Lacy, Bernina Paahuutsuu and Kristen Worthington for attending and supporting our mission to foster an equitable economy.
