🎉 140 Years of Design Excellence 🎉 Today, we’re proud to celebrate our 140th anniversary and the launch of our new legacy web page! We chose October 8 for this celebration as it marks the birthday of our founder, John Calvin Stevens, and the 2009 proclamation of “John Calvin Stevens Day” by the City of Portland. A celebrated historical figure in Maine, John Calvin Stevens founded the firm in 1884. His company of one has evolved into the multi-disciplined architecture and engineering firm we are today, with a portfolio that reaches across the country and beyond. From the shingle-style coastal cottages of our past to today’s high-performance, sustainable buildings, we honor the incredible journey and the team that made it possible. Thank you to our clients and employees, past and present. Your trust and commitment have helped shape over a century of success. Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine on 50 years in South Portland! We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and the incredible impact this organization has on our community! This week, they're opening their doors to celebrate this achievement. Designed by our very own Paul Stevens in the 1970s and building on his family’s commitment to supporting Maine’s youth, this project represents a relationship that spans five generations of the Stevens family. A partnership stretching back to 1931 with the design of the original Portland Boys Club, SMRT continues to work closely with the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Maine today.
It's a celebration!! Join us on September 19th from 4:30 - 6:30PM as we commemorate 50 years of supporting youth at the South Portland Boys & Girls Club. Come share memories and grab a bite to eat with Club members old and new, City and local business leaders and more! We hope to see you there.
