    “the people’s EXPO” 🥹❤️ Now that enough time has passed, wanted to share some of the snapshots from our LA event thanks to Soon Tani Beccaria Mochizuki For the past four years Snaxshot has hosted an event featuring the latest in food and beverage, from pre-launch items to brands from around the world . Leisure Hydration was at our first one with only jugs testing out their product, BRUTAL was out our second one to debut their product all the way from Ecuador, SummerFall debuted with us last year. This year we had no shortage of amazing brands from iessi debuting all the way from France, Rick M. got us our first HYQ (which taste amazing btw) Really Good People came all the way from Australia to showcase a myriad of Aussie brands we’ve loved from afar, as well as DELLI who joined us from the UK! We ticketed the event for a good cause, with 330 attendees who helped us raise $10K to help founders and retailers affected by LA fires. The vision? For community by community. Our events are the perfect place for brands to sample not only amongst VC, retailers, buyers alike (this year also featured some celebrities 👀) but most importantly consumers. Many brands have found their first customers and now loyal brand advocates at our parties, which aim to serve as an equalizing platform, at no cost for brands. Though many of you complained about it not being in Anaheim, I think what we’re building makes sense for it to continue to be in LA, helping pour back into the city while supporting the CPG ecosystem as a whole. Many of you also complained that the event should accommodate more people, and I hope any big brand or investment firm reading, reaches out to sponsor next year 😉 Snaxshot turns 5 this year, I cannot express how much gratitude I have for all who have embraced it and opened up to us, I know I can come across as opinionated but truly I’m hoping what we do across our newsletter, socials and community continues to have a meaningful and positive impact in this space. To the founders who were part of it, I’m thankful and rooting for you every step of the way. To the rest who joined us for a good cause, thank you so much and hope you snacked to your heart’s content.     NEO ANDEAN permeates into CPG ‼️ 🥰 🦙 Love seeing new wave of brands inspired by cholets' neon infrastructures in Bolivia as well as the bright colors of cholitas and llamas found across South America. It's like a yassified version of the classic Inca's Food. Would love to know what other examples of Neo Andean you see coming up!

    The Spanish have gone Graza 😂‼️🚨 From the Greeks to Germans, Australians and New Zealand, and every new olive oil brand is following suit with squeeze bottles Find it fascinating, in the same way that Millennials made canned wine norm (usually seen as inferior, concerns about the container, etc) we’ve also switched up the norm of how we olive oil Convenience is hard to UNLEARN 👀

    PEPSI BUYS POPPI $1.65B🚨‼️👀 *buys it for $1.95 billion, which includes $300 million of anticipated cash tax benefits everyone is already writing about the great “brand repositioning” that Poppi did going from “Mother” which was ACV to Poppi (prebiotics) One that isn’t really a repositioning as much as an entirely new product Two, no one is saying what they actually did which was pull a Pepsi move (fitting) which is to be second best. Let’s be real, Poppi’s success comes thanks to Olipop. Period. That being said incredible to see it being acquired, beverage category is INSANE and this exit is probably going to inspire another wave of gut health soda (please God no) Beverage girlies at half mast today… get ready for the backlash from GenZ girlies who might not see this as the best outcome. My dream? That Poppi let’s go of the gut health narrative and stays as “modern soda” something they did in Canada already… — On a separate note, BigFood starts to build out their “better for you” halos… Mars buying Kind, Tru Fu Pepsi buying Siete and Poppi The great snack redemption arc is here 👀

    2018 - Mother Beverage is positioned as a sparkling apple cider beverage, highlighting health first and spotlighting ACV as a functional ingredient, from the name to the packaging 2020 - Rebranded to poppi, positioned as a better-for-you soda, highlighting taste first and health second through bold packaging and a content strategy to appeal to a young audience 2025 - Rumored to be acquired by Pepsi for $1.5b, (would be higher if they had better distribution on Cherry Cola) Don’t sleep on brand (or the BFY soda arms race, Consumer M&A is so back 🔥) Made this to show my parents brand strategy is a real job but I'll leave the CPG memes to the 🐐 Andrea Hernández, if you’re not following Snaxshot what are you doing?

    Expo West was a whirlwind! Snaxshot's Snax for LA event was an energizing kick off to the week. Thank you for having us and kudos to Andrea Hernández for continuing to support the small guys, the community, and always bringing the hot, hot takes. We unveiled our new spicy Dan Dan sauce (available at Whole Foods Market SoPac stores next month) and new trio of avocado oil based vinaigrettes (available at Whole Foods Market in June) to much excitement and positive reviews. For all the people with tastebuds, you're going to be in for a treat!!! I wish I took more pictures along the way, but some highlights with some of the best people in the biz. Thank you Tom Shea for the Bowlcut truck - my son is obsessed! Genius marketing. I'm hoping for a full-sized truck soon... #expowest

    Pepsi acquiring Poppi? 🚨‼️ we are nearing the end of soda wars 2.0 surprising that it’s $1.5B (would be 3x sales)considering Olipop has been valued for more and most recently Alani Nu sold for $1.8B the rumors were Poppi was burning $$ opposed to Olipop being profitable… can’t wait for the details of this deal to leak HERE FOR POPSI! EVIL DOES NOT DIE IT REINVENTS ITSELF
