Did you know poor lighting can contribute to myopia? Dr Loh Kai Lyn, Consultant, Myopia Centre, SNEC, spoke with Channel 8 on how lighting can impact vision and myopia. She explained how the eye reacts under different lighting, and considerations for using appropriate lighting for reading and near work. She also clarified if blue light from devices will lead to myopia progression, and emphasised that lifestyle changes, like spending more time outdoors in daylight, are key to preventing myopia onset and progression.
