Recognizing the importance of Suicide Awareness Week throughout the District!
Irvine Valley College’s Walk of Hope held annually to promote education for suicide awareness. Special thanks to the Health & Wellness Center team for their leadership, to the many community organizations that participated in our Resource Fair, to our guest speaker Joshua Rivedal for your words of encouragement & inspiration, and to the many volunteers and participants. Your support strengthens the community and reminds everyone that the power of one individual truly can make a difference in someone’s life. #ivc #irvinevalleycollege #walkofhope #suicideawareness #hope #communityimpact

Happy Birthday Saddleback College. 🎂 You make 56 look good and continue to make an impact on students and their families in south Orange County and beyond.
Happy Birthday to us 🎂! Today, September 23, marks Saddleback's 56 year as part of the California Community Colleges! On this day we welcomed our first class to our interim campus up the street from our current campus (if you're local, it's where Mission Hospital sits today). It wasn't until 1970, that students took classes on the campus footprint we occupy today. What do our student counts looks like from 1968 to today? September 23, 1968: We had 827 full-time students and 709 part-time students. Today, September 23, 2024: We have 6,441 full-time students and 11,089 part-time students. (And 7,046 students who take non-credit courses!) Click through to see some photos celebrating the evolution of Saddleback College as we celebrate the past and look ahead to the future! First photo: Taken in 1971 as the campus started taking shape. The buildings shown are today's village area of campus. Second photo: Taken in 2019 from the stadium facing the Santa Ana Mountain range "Saddleback" formation. Third photo: Construction outside the BGS building in February 1986. Fourth photo: Construction outside the BGS building on Quad renovation project, September 23, 2024. Fifth photo: Photo of the construction of the Math Science building in 1971. Sixth photo: Photo of the construction of the Math and Computer Science building, September 23, 2024. Est. completion spring 2025. Seventh photo: The Gateway Building, our newest campus building, opened spring 2024. If you were a student or employee of Saddleback, share a memory of your time at Saddleback in the comments.
