In his remarks during last week’s annual meeting, President Robert J. Lewandowski, MD, FSIR, unveiled our plans for a year-long celebration of SIR’s remarkable 50-year journey. We're thrilled to introduce an interactive timeline (https://brnw.ch/21wIoQx) that highlights some pivotal moments in IR and SIR history, including major innovations, organizational milestones, and the evolution of our specialty. And the best part? It's only the beginning! We have 30 milestones already, and we invite you to contribute your own memorable highlights as we shape this journey together. Our anniversary theme, “50 and Forward,” embodies our commitment to honoring our past while embracing the future. Stay tuned for special anniversary content as it unfolds. We had the privilege of speaking to numerous SIR leaders and members at the annual meeting, gathering invaluable moments and content to enhance our anniversary celebration. Our grand finale awaits you at next year's annual meeting in Nashville (#SIR25NASH)! Join us for an unforgettable celebration featuring engaging activities, fabulous giveaways and countless opportunities to express gratitude to those who've influenced our educational and professional journeys. Improving patient care with minimally invasive, image-guided medicine.
About us
The Society of Interventional Radiology is a national organization of physicians, trainees, students, scientists, clinical associates and other allied health professionals dedicated to improving public health through disease management and minimally invasive, image-guided therapeutic interventions. The mission of SIR is to improve the health of the public through pioneering advances in image-guided therapy. Interventional radiologists are physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments. They offer the most in-depth knowledge of the least invasive treatments available coupled with diagnostic and clinical experience across all specialties. Many conditions that once required surgery can be treated less invasively by interventional radiologists. Interventional radiology treatments offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time compared to open surgery. Visit sirweb.org. Looking for a job in interventional radiology?
