The SOON X SOHO X TABOO presentation was a hit, and today marks the day where the report becomes available to download - free. On Sunday at SXSW, over 700 creators joined us as we unveiled The Future of Brand Experience Design—a collaboration between SOON Future Studies, SoHo Experiential and The Taboo Group. Reece Hobbins authored the report and along side John Millward (Chief Creative Officer, SoHo Experiential) presented it. The duo slammed out the smash hits of the report without a stutter. The keynote challenged brands to rethink how experiences are created, shared, and felt. As of today, the full 120-page report is available for free download at www.soon.com.au A few key takeaways from the SXSW keynote: The "Prison of Joy" Effect – Hyper-personalisation creates algorithmic bubbles that bring comfort but risk trapping consumers in predictable, pleasure-filled echo chambers. Bittersweet Nostalgia – Nostalgia’s emotional power comes from its duality—warmth for the past mixed with a sense of loss—making it a potent tool for brand storytelling. Curated Authenticity & the "Fourth Wall" – In the age of radical transparency, brands must balance openness with strategic storytelling to foster real connections. The report is laden with insights, foresight, and strategies for brands looking to stay ahead. Check it out and let me know what you think... The dust has settled, but the energy? Still electric. 🔥 At SXSW, we took the stage to break down what’s next for brand experiences—not just where the industry is heading, but where it needs to go. One thing is clear: the brands that win won’t just be seen or heard. They’ll be felt. 3 Key Takeaways from Our SXSW Panel with SOON Future Studies and The Taboo Group: The “Prison of Joy” Effect – Hyper-personalization creates algorithmic bubbles that deliver comfort but risk isolating consumers in an echo chamber of predictable pleasure. Bittersweet Nostalgia – Nostalgia’s emotional power lies in its duality—combining warmth for the past with a sense of loss—making it a potent tool for brand storytelling. Curated Authenticity & the “Fourth Wall” – Radical transparency in the digital age blurs the line between brands and audiences, requiring a balance between openness and strategic storytelling. Want the full breakdown? Let’s talk. Drop a comment or DM us to get the Future of Brand Experience Design report. Let’s reimagine how brands engage their most important audiences—together. #SXSW2025 #ExperientialMarketing #BrandExperience #WeLiveForThis

Many of you who know me know that I love film. In my role at iAE, I have been fortunate enough that my work has enabled me to promote symphonic film concerts all over North America. With the help and trust of various producer, venue, and symphony partners, iAE has become one of the largest promoters of film concert events in North America by producing over 125 performances annually in over 60 cities. In a media climate where the box office and movie theatres continue to struggle - film concerts have brought the magic of the movies back to life in an all-new way. There is nothing quite like experiencing your favorite film and score live, note to movie-theatre quality picture, along with a full-symphony orchestra and thousands of other die-hard fans of that film. As iAE continues to expand and grow our Film Concert Division, we are seeking to fill a new position: Director of Film Concert Production https://lnkd.in/g-w6HveS

Not one to be missed! The Future of Brand Experience Design Report, brought to you by SOON Future Studies in collaboration with The Taboo Group & SoHo Experiential is launching at SXSW this Sunday, an amazing insight into how brands need to evolve to stay relevant. The full report will be available for free from 11 March at soonfutures.com
THE FUTURE OF BRAND EXPERIENCE DESIGN We’ve always believed the best way to engage with a brand is through lived experience. At SOON Future Studies, we’ve teamed up with SoHo Experiential and The Taboo Group to launch The Future of Brand Experience Design Report—a deep dive into how brands need to evolve to stay relevant. Built from global interviews with the best in the business, backed by SOON’s futures methodologies, the report checks out the big shifts shaping brand experience—where culture, technology, and human behaviour collide to create the new frontier. We’re launching it first at SXSW this Sunday, where Reece Hobbins (Cultural Futures Director, SOON) and John Millward (CCO, SoHo Experiential) will break down the key insights and challenge brands to rethink how they engage audiences. A few big themes in the report: - The shift from passive audiences to active participants—why co-creation is the future of brand engagement - The nostalgia effect—how looking back is shaping the future - AI’s role in making brand experiences more personal, not just more digital - The science behind what makes an experience unforgettable “We crave the new, bond over the unexpected, and remember the extraordinary.” – Reece Hobbins The full report is FREE from 11 March at soonfutures.com. See you at SXSW on 9 March, 4PM (JW Marriott, Salon 6, Austin, TX). AT SXSW 2025, DESIGN SHAPES THE FUTURE Come to Austin March 7-13 for the 2025 SXSW Conference, which hosts hundreds of panels and presentations, plus dozens of can't-be-missed keynotes and featured speakers. Learn more about all the many topics covered at this year's event by browsing these regular LinkedIn posts. Today we examine five compelling sessions that focus on how design shapes the future. These five sessions all occur within the Design track at SXSW 2025, which runs from March 7 to March 11. Assembling Tomorrow -- A Guide to Designing a Thriving Future: Looking to learn how to mend the mistakes of our past and shape our future for the better? Come hear the authors of "Assembling Tomorrow," the most recent book from the Stanford d.school, share their words and work. https://lnkd.in/gypfZJyh Create, Code, Conserve -- Digital Design for a Circular Future: In this session, Tangen and iF Design will explore how applying circular economic principles can help "design out" digital pollution and build a more sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/gmYD4Epm Draw the Future: Imagining Future Products & Experiences! This two-hour workshop explores ways to sketch augmented reality, immersive experiences, and future products using just paper and pens. All drawing levels are welcome! Our focus will be on conceiving and communicating ideas, not making art. https://lnkd.in/grR7i7Ud The Future of Brand Experience Design -- How Brands Will Be Lived, Felt and Shared: This session unveils findings from the Soon Futures Studies Report, exploring how technology, insights, and cultural shifts will reshape brand interactions. From augmented moments to regenerative experiences, we’ll showcase scenarios and case studies revealing how brands will blur boundaries with culture and environment in the next decade. https://lnkd.in/g4y9TNsK The Future of Design Must Be Anti-Racist: Chris Rudd, founder and CEO of ChiByDesign, will introduce participants to anti-racist design as a necessary approach to creating equitable futures. Anti-racist design focuses on connecting “isolated” events to structures and mindsets that lead to racist outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gHzKqB8q Click here to see the full list of sessions in the 2025 Design track https://lnkd.in/g-sfsvWr Attend all these sessions in the Design track (and the 22 other tracks at SXSW 2025) by purchasing your badge today. sxsw.com/attend SXSW, #sxsw, #sxsw2025, #design, #designthinking, John Maeda, Christopher Rudd, #antiracist, Stanford d.school, Carissa Carter, Scott Doorley, #future, #tomorrow, #trends, Nadine Clarke, Lisa Gralnek, Tangent Design Group, Inc., Matthew Carlson, Adobe, John Millward, Tully Walter, iF Design, #MarchMagic, #innovation, #creativity, #trending, #designmatters, #brandexperience, #brandexperiencedesign
