Earlier this year, SouthernCarolina Alliance led a delegation of regional leaders to Washington, D.C. comprised of the County Council Chairmen of the 7 counties, along with several of our State House Representatives and State Senators, to meet with our Congressional delegation and the U.S. Department of Energy about critical economic development projects and supporting infrastructure. It's #FeaturedIndustryFriday, and today we are highlighting Innovative Poultry Products (IPP), who expanded their operations in Bamberg County in 2023, investing $2.86 million and adding 30 new jobs over the next five years. Founded by Chad Brubaker in 2015, IPP is a company dedicated to creating cutting edge products to make life easier for poultry farmers. Growing up as a dairy and grain farmer, Chad had many opportunities of working on farm equipment. Little did he know that one of his innovative ideas would one day become a solution for a frustrating problem that his farming colleagues face. IPP's new, expanded facility, where they currently employee 20, allows the company to produce poultry equipment in-house that previously had been outsourced. Not only is IPP a great industry providing good jobs for the SCA region, but they are also now offering a new dining establishment for Bamberg County, located in the corner of their new facility in Olar! SCA's marketing team recently visited Befesa, located at the S.C. Advanced Technology Park in Barnwell County, where we met with Plant Manager Skyler Marker, to discuss why Barnwell County is a great place to invest and do business. Be sure to stay tuned for Befesa's feature on our "Behind the Golden Shovel" podcast, produced by WHHI-TV. Befesa recycles tons of hazardous waste each day at their Barnwell facility. By recycling this material safely and sufficiently, it helps keep this material out of landfills. Once it goes through Befesa's system, it can be used again in a new way. Congratulations to Jasper County! TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation) Manufacturing, a division of Terminal Investment Corporation, announced today that the company is investing an additional $1.6 million and adding 38 jobs at the Cypress Ridge Industrial Park in a remanufacturing and repair operation that will include converting TICO terminal diesel trucks to electric.
