Today, we are asking for your help—not for our programs, not for our organization—but for something much bigger. Special Equestrians is launching an emergency fundraiser to support the regions in the South ravaged by recent storms. Horses are in desperate need—their homes have been destroyed. Evacuations are ongoing, but they urgently need food, supplies, and shelter plus many will need medical care. The wonderful team at Fleet of Angels is working hard to provide necessary relocations and supplies to the animals in need affected by Hurricane Helene and soon, Hurricane Milton. Your donations will go directly to providing food, shelter, and critical care for these horses during this crisis. Every dollar counts, and time is of the essence. We need your help NOW to give these animals the support they so desperately need and deserve. Donate easily on our website at https://lnkd.in/gPn7UDRf

We have always known that what we do here at Special Equestrians, is special - what we didn’t know was just how far our mission and the art of harnessing the healing power of horses would soon travel… At the request of our wonderful friends at PATH Intl., we recently had the pleasure of hosting world-renowned super model and accomplished equestrian, Bella Hadid at the barn. We were joined by PATH Intl’s Director of Marketing, and together we toured our barn and introduced them to each member of our herd, they even had the opportunity to speak with some of our riders and observe lessons. But most importantly, we discussed the importance of equine therapy and the impact that horses have and how they can change the lives of so many children and adult coping with physical, emotional, and mental health disabilities. Thank you, Bella and PATH Intl for taking the time to learn more about what makes Special Equestrians so special to so many special people. specialequestrians.org See Bella’s post here: https://lnkd.in/egQAzfgy

Equine therapy is so much more than developing riding skills. It’s about building confidence and developing relationships. It’s about learning new ways to discover your strengths and passion. It’s a journey. One that Adam began with Special Equestrians over 20 years ago, at the age of 5. After many years of riding, Adam decided to sign up to volunteer at Special Equestrians. He told us, “I decided to volunteer because I like giving out my time, when I was younger people helped me out. Volunteering in the lessons with the students and seeing the smile on their faces is something I enjoy.” Today, Special Equestrians embarks on our 2023 annual giving campaign, and with help from donors like you, we can continue to support people like Adam, and children and adults of all abilities.
