Announcement: The July 2024 Spectacular Design Weekend Competition Winners !! Congratulations!! The first-place honor was awarded to Designers: Nicholas Richards and Christina Soediono for the project "Wishbone Bridge. “The level of detail they put into the structural components, as well as the overall design, is impressive. They paid close attention to the community's initiatives.  The design maintains a whimsical aspect while connecting to the memory and history, all while looking forward to the future and the city's aspirations.” -Jordan Luther Securing second place was Designers: Logan West, Fernando Avila, Logan Ali, and Justin Levelle for their project ECHO. “Echo pushes the boundaries of the out of the box. The designers were also looking at it from a multidisciplinary perspective and thinking about not only structurally, how it would work, but also looking at the engineering component of powering the city as a whole. The social impact that Echo has is really powerful.” remarked Rosa Sheng In third place was Designer: Matthew Mejia for the entry Francis Scott Key II (Prosperity Bridge), Jurors praised the design for “its simplicity and elegance, perfectly suited for its purpose. ‘’Often, simplicity is overlooked, but this design stands out for its elegant and practical approach.” -Hitoshi Abe Receiving an Honorable Mention was Designer: Niaz Ahmed for the project Colorful Connections. “Having the bravery to introduce color and hopefulness was refreshing. It was innovative and unconventional, it potentially serves as a major structural element, symbolizing a celebratory look towards the future.” -Rosa Sheng The People’s Choice Award goes to Designers: Harshil Jain, Hrushikesh, Naveen Reddy Baarla, Assoc. AIA, and Kabir Dole for the project "Unity Bridge." This design resonated deeply with the Spectacular Community, capturing the imagination and earning widespread admiration.
