Spirit announced the completion of the sale of subsidiary Fiber Materials, Inc (FMI) to Tex Tech Industries, Inc. FMI is an industry leader in high-temperature materials and reinforced composites with a focus on Carbon / Carbon and related composites based in Biddeford, Maine and Woonsocket, Rhode Island. “This transaction is in the best interest of Spirit, the FMI business and the customers it serves,” said Irene Esteves, Spirit AeroSystems Chief Financial Officer. Apprentices get more than training—they pursue their passions to shape the future. For Kasey, an NC programmer apprentice, she’s not only helping to build parts, she’s building her confidence. In addition to being a standout at Spirit, Kasey was accepted into the U.S. Department of Labor's Apprentice Trailblazer Initiative. She was invited to the White House this week to be recognized for her involvement in the national network.
