We're excited to announce our partnership with Martha's Table! In October, we kicked off their Training & Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) supporting local community leaders doing amazing work East of the River in Ward 8. These 30 leaders and their grassroots organizations know best what their communities want and need to thrive. In addition to receiving technical assistance from Martha's Table, Spur Local will be working with them to build their capacity through 1-on-1 conversations and support, as well as access to our digital library of nonprofit resources. Thank you, Martha's Table! We are proud to partner with you on such a vital investment for our local communities.

Hard to pick a favorite part of the work, but #CommunityChangemakers is certainly part of it every year. As our Executive Director Matthew G. shared last night, sometimes community shows up loud. We heard and felt everyone who joined us 💜 Thank you for spending the evening in celebration and, more importantly, thank you for the roles you play in strengthening our DC region every day.

In September, we partnered with Thread Strategies to host a screening of #Uncharitable. Though the stories in this film highlighted how large national nonprofits can overcome some of today's most pressing challenges, Spur Local connects these accomplishments with our knowledge of what grassroots organizations have done on the local level, and what they can continue to do with our support. Local nonprofits clean our watersheds, provide culturally relevant and nutritious food to our neighbors, advocate for more affordable housing, create opportunities for artists, cultivate a love for life-long learning in our students, and so much more. We believe that a thriving and equitable DC region is possible, and that nonprofits on-the-ground can spark big change collectively. 📹: Uncharitable Movie
