Many experts think that one of the most effective solutions to address pandemic-related learning loss is to have smaller class sizes, made possible by team teaching. Sound familiar? A co-teaching model is a key tenet of our residency. We’ve always known that one of the most impactful elements of the residency program is placing our first year residents in a classroom lead by one our mentor teachers. Not only does this model assist in effectively developing a new teacher, but students also benefit from having two teachers in the classroom.
