  • While we continue to work to reach a fair agreement with UnitedHealthcare, we want to encourage our valued patients to immediately apply with UnitedHealthcare for continuity of care. Some patients, including those who are pregnant or undergoing active treatment for a chronic condition, may qualify for extended in-network access through UnitedHealthcare's continuity of care program. UnitedHealthcare requires you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to see if you qualify. For us, it’s simple: Our patients’ health is our top priority. We need UnitedHealthcare to prioritize our patients’ health, too, and bring us back into network. For more information, visit www.sphp.com/uhc

  • While we continue to work to reach a fair agreement with UnitedHealthcare, we want to remind our valued patients that they should NOT delay seeking care. You will always have in-network access to our emergency department and people with insurance through certain UnitedHealth plans, specifically Medicaid, are covered at St. Peter's hospitals and doctors through the end of August. For us, it’s simple: Our patients’ health is our top priority. We need UnitedHealthcare to prioritize our patients’ health, too, and bring us back into network. • Meet Nathan Yellico, Respiratory Therapy Educator for St. Peter’s Health Partners. We are grateful for Nathan’s dedication, and we are excited to see where his career takes him! #WhyIWorkatSPHP “My name is Nathan Yellico, and I am the Respiratory Therapy Educator for St. Peter’s Health Partners. I first started at St. Peter’s Hospital 20 years ago as an Information Associate. Eventually I moved on to being a clinician when I became a Respiratory Therapist, working night shift for many years in that capacity. I developed an interest in adult critical care and clinical education, often working on staff education including teaching ventilator courses and providing in-services. I also have spent some time as an RT working for an air ambulance, taking travel assignments to the NYC/Long Island area during the pandemic, and working in home care with a focus on sleep disordered breathing. This wide variety of experience has helped me to develop skills in several aspects of respiratory care. When I learned that St. Peter’s Health Partners was looking to hire a full-time clinical educator for the respiratory department, I jumped on the opportunity. Since taking on that role, I have been responsible for standing up the new Respiratory Therapy Residency Program. Like the Nurse Residency Program, the RT residents are new-graduate Respiratory Therapists who will receive a year of on-going, formal training and mentorship to develop into competent and professional novice respiratory therapists. As the RT Educator, I provide education for the Respiratory Services department and interface with Nursing Professional Development and other colleagues, such as Speech Therapy, to provide education to non-RT professions. Being a Respiratory Therapist at SPHP is rewarding because you can utilize your full scope of practice and have a meaningful impact on patient care. As the RT Educator I am especially privileged in that I continue to be a part of this talented team by providing direct patient care, but also by translating my knowledge and experience into training to enhance the skills of Respiratory Therapists and other colleagues. I look forward to being able to positively impact Respiratory Therapy at SPHP”.
