Stand.earth challenges corporations and governments to treat people and the environment with respect.
About us
Stand.earth challenges corporations and governments to treat people and the environment with respect, because our lives depend on it. Stand.earth is an advocacy organization made up of people challenging governments and corporations to make the health of our communities, our environment, and our climate the top priority. We are also #4 on Fast Company's 2023 list of Most Innovative Nonprofits. We protect the forests and the stable climate required to keep our planet — and us — thriving. Our campaigns challenge destructive corporate and governmental practices, demand accountability, and create solutions that support all of us, and the environment and climate we depend upon. We recognize and respect the sovereignty of First Nations and tribes, as well as the rights of indigenous people and frontline communities. These communities are often first and most directly impacted — and provide critical leadership in developing solutions.

New research from Friends of the Earth has found that over a quarter of neighborhoods in England have alarmingly harmful levels of pollution that are endangering wildlife. “While we can choose to avoid these polluted waters, many precious species cannot steer clear of the pollution we pump into their living rooms,” said Sienna Somers, nature campaigner at Friends of the Earth. “Polluters must be held accountable for the harm they cause and forced to clean it up” #MakePollutersPay https://bit.ly/3Z8Khnp

Big news: the US Army Corps received 150,000 comments opposing the Line 5 oil pipeline. Calls to #RejectLine5 are growing nationally. A spill in the Great Lakes would threaten drinking water for millions of people, harm regional economies and cover hundreds of miles of shoreline. Enbridge has been trespassing illegally on the reservation of the Bad River Band since 2013. Line 5 is 71 years old, decades past its engineered lifespan. It’s time to shut down this aging, dangerous pipeline!
