This past week, GAF partnered with Habitat for Humanity International for the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project in St. Paul, Minnesota. This year’s event brought together thousands of volunteers, including more than 50 volunteers from GAF, to build nearly 150 affordable housing units on 12 acres—the largest project in Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s history. GAF donated GAF Energy Timberline Solar shingles and other roofing materials, which were distributed across 30 multi-family homes. This contribution supports the all-electric, low-carbon vision for the neighborhood, which has the potential to be one of the most energy-efficient developments ever created in Minnesota. #GAFroofing #CarterWorkProject

Standard Industries co-CEO David Winter recently visited several of our operating companies’ sites in Germany. First, he traveled to W. R. Grace’s plant in Worms, which manufactures products for each of Grace’s global business units and is home to over 900 Grace employees—more than any other site. While there, David and Grace CEO Ed Sparks held a town hall to hear from employees and answer their questions about the business. Next, David joined BMI Group CEO Thomas Casparie at BMI’s regional head office in Oberursel, Germany to meet with employees and host a town hall. They also visited BMI’s Technical Center in nearby Heusenstamm, one of four Technical Centers where BMI works to research and develop innovative new roofing and waterproofing products for customers in Europe and beyond. #WRGrace #BMIGroup

Matte finishes that preserve the natural look of wood are in demand in today’s interior design world—from coffee tables to cabinets to flooring. W. R. Grace’s coating additives help formulators achieve a low-gloss finish that’s also high-performing, enhancing aesthetics and durability. When mixed into a paint or varnish, Grace’s silica matting agents create a microscopic roughening of the formula’s surface as it dries, diffusely reflecting light. The result is a matte finish that offers stain and scratch resistance and long-lasting protection. Learn more about Grace’s wood coating technology: https://bit.ly/3XEp1DO #WRGrace

High above the City of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, a lush green oasis is growing on the South Terrace of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The building’s 20,000-square-foot living roof retains up to 80% of annual rainfall with a mix of sedums, grasses, and native perennials, while a Siplast membrane beneath ensures the system remains watertight. Inspired by the city’s historic suspension bridges and natural surroundings, the design features sculptural steel cables and a winding blue pathway made from recycled glass, echoing the nearby Allegheny River.
