Deliberative Poll: How can we feel the pulse of the country in one room? What is the method of Deliberative Polling? How can this method aim to enhance deliberative democracy? What role do citizen deliberations play both in policy-making and informing citizens? These questions and much more will be explained and discussed in the lecture “Deliberative Poll: How can we feel the pulse of the country in one room?”, on the 1st of October at 10:00h. Deliberative polling, a method pioneered by Professor James Fishkin from Stanford University, has been implemented in various countries around the world, including China, Uganda, Japan, and Texas to mention a few. In the region of the Western Balkans, this method was for the first time implemented in North Macedonia by the European Policy Institute in Skopje in cooperation with the Stanford Deliberative Democracy Lab in 2017.
